Cheers Kim. I think snow and I just get along when it comes to exposures, perhaps because the scene is so bright that it is finally possible to see what I'm doing on the not always entirely helpful screen on the back of the 5D. Aside from the middle right image which I did adjust the white balance on they are all as shot, with the white balance set to cloudy (which is my default setting).

Andy,
What strikes me in those serene and very peaceful images are the colours. I realy looked a long time on them enjoing how balanced and subtle you managed to post process these wonderful landscape images.
I am impressed.

Hi Andy,
As you, I somehow have this fear of the fisheye lens too. But I see and have seen it used very well - like in this shot. I am looking forward to seeing a lot more from your hands with this short focal lenght.

Please have a nice day.

While working on a already delayed deliverable, I got stuck somewhere and thought to spend a couple of minutes on flickr to beat the stress, its when I saw your composition "Tree" in explore.

Its been more than 1 hour now that I have been going through your photostream, and all throughts of facing boss's ire is beaten by the desire to see the next composition.

Hi Kim - cheers for stopping by - it's always difficult to judge the actual walk time as so much time is spent waiting for one of us (usually me) to catch up. Without stops it's probably about 4hrs but with the kids on the walk too we've made it last about 8hrs before :)

Hi Andy,
Looks like a nice walk, with a lot of spectacular photographic oportunities.
I wonder, how long that walk would be?

Such a nice image of these wonderful fenses btw.
Love the tones, and the skies.

Thanks Nicola. This was just taken using the standard shutter speed, which I believe is about 1/45 of a second.

My camera has two shutter modes controlled by a small lever on the side - standard (1/45s) or bulb (where it stays open for as long as you press the button) - standard is the "up" position I think but you can check this by watching how the shutter behaves when you press the shutter button.

With ISO100 film in this camera all you need is a nice bright scene and you should be fine - I haven't had anything come out underexposed, but I've always selected heavily sunlit scenes. One word of warning - make sure you clean the lens front and back if it's not been used in a while.

There are other Brownie shots scattered around my photostream on Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/maxakropolis/

Hi Kim - cheers for stopping by. I guess you already know where I stand - not for one moment would I ever take the convenience of digital for granted, or the fact that this convenience has made photography more accessible to the masses (such as myself).

I'm unsure at the moment whether these experiments with film are progressing my style or skill, but that hardly seems to matter when it's such fun waiting for films to come back from processing :)
